Taki Six-Shooter Tourney
Rules of Play |

| The Taki Six-Shooter Tourney is one of the most diabolical side games the Midwest Backgammon Championships has ever devised.
The 16 Taki-Western Bakelite qualifiers (eight charity raffle winners and eight lucky six-shooter qualifiers from Saturday afternoon) will play one game matches on Sunday, March 2 commencing at 11:00 a.m. The Six-Shooter game setup is the same as normal backgammon and all the regular rules apply with the following exceptions: 1. Players must used mixed color dice. Here are a few examples of what goes on in this sick and twisted game: Example 1. The designated “six-shooter” die is Red. Black rolls a red 6 and a green 3. Before Black makes his move, which black checker should White remove? |

White’s best play is to remove the checker on Black’s ace point. Now Black is forced to leave a double shot. If on White’s next roll, she hits, but her hit contains a red 6, Black should remove the hitting threat by taking off White’s back checker. Black’s choice maintains his racing advantage. Example 2. The designated “six-shooter” die is Red. On the bearoff, Black rolls 6-6. |

White must first remove a black checker from the board and Black then takes off the last four checkers to win from what appeared to be a hopeless position!
